100 5G Labs have been established across the country to strengthen the 6G Research and Development ecosystem. Telecom Secretary and Chairman of Digital Communications Commissions, Dr. Neeraj Mittal today said telecom has become a key driver of the economy and supports the development of technologies across various fields. He said, Bharat 6G Alliance initiative, has signed 10 international partnerships with global 6G organizations and aims for India to hold 10 percent of the world’s 6G patents by 2030.
He was addressing a thematic session on the concluding day of Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) also hosted a technical session, highlighting India’s advancements in Advanced Materials and Manufacturing. Speaking at the session, the Director General of CSIR, Dr. N. Kalaiselvi said that ESTIC 2025 served as an impactful platform where ideas, science, and advanced technologies intersect-accelerating the realization of a future-ready and knowledge-powered Bharat.
The conclave inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 3rd of this month demonstrated the collaborative efforts between researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers in accelerating the nation’s transition to a knowledge-driven economy.
