The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense fog conditions in parts of West Uttar Pradesh today. IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Met department has also forecast heavy rainfall in parts of Lakshadweep today.
The weather agency has said that there will be a gradual fall in the minimum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in many parts of northwest India for the next 4 days. Along with this, squally weather conditions are likely to prevail over the Andaman Sea, off the north Tamil Nadu coast, the south and central Bay of Bengal, the Gulf of Mannar and the adjoining Comorin area today.
Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the very poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 396 as of 7 AM today. In view of the poor air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management has imposed Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan in the national capital and adjoining areas.
