WB Governor dissolves assembly; Political parleys on to form governments in Tamil Nadu and Keralam

In the midst of preparations to form a new government in West Bengal, the state Legislative Assembly has been formally dissolved.  Governor R. N. Ravi issued the order to dissolve the existing Assembly today, exercising powers under Article 174 of the Constitution.
 
This marks a significant step in the transition of power as the state moves toward the formation of its next government by taking the oath on Saturday.
 
Our correspondent that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Kolkata tomorrow. Mr Shah is scheduled to attend a meeting with the newly elected BJP MLAs, during which the party’s legislative leader will be selected.
