Vice President C P Radhakrishnan called upon the young generation to say no to drugs, be careful while using social media and have control over their minds. He was speaking at the Silver Jubilee celebrations of CMR Institute of Technology in Bengaluru today. Asking the young minds not to concede defeat in the face of failures, the Vice President stressed that sincerity, involvement and hard work will bring success if not today, someday.
Speaking about the role of educational institutions, the Vice President said that their role is to mould students into responsible citizens and ethical leaders. The teachers have to mentor minds, ignite curiosity and cultivate character among their students, and universities should become laboratories of ideas. Vice President Radhakrishnan noted that India is no longer an adopter of technology and is emerging as a creator of technology.
Digital India, Start Up India and Make in India programmes have created an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country which is more vibrant and supportive. Saying that we face challenges of cybersecurity, climate change and ethical use of AI, he added that the same challenges provide us opportunities in entrepreneurship and play leadership roles. He called upon young minds to work for the dream of making India Viksit Bharat by 2047.
