Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan paid tribute to India’s foremost freedom fighter and pioneering nation-builders V.O. Chidambaram Pillai on his death anniversary on Tuesday. In a social media post, Mr. Radhakrishnan noted that V. O. Chidambaram Pillai, fondly hailed as Kappalottiya Tamizhan (The Tamil Helmsman), played a transformative role in igniting the spirit of Swadeshi in South India. Mr. Radhakrishnan said he salutes the indomitable spirit of V. O. Chidambaram Pillai, whose legacy continues to illuminate India’s path toward self-reliance and national dignity.
