Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan addressed Civil Services Officer Trainees at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN) in Palasamudram, Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. He praised the academy’s rapid growth as a premier centre for Customs and GST capacity-building. The Vice President recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new NACIN campus in 2024. He said the institution has since become an important hub for developing skilled and future-ready officers.
Speaking on the role of civil servants in achieving Viksit Bharat at 2047, he highlighted the need for last-mile delivery, teamwork, and inclusive growth. He urged young officers to place team excellence above individual achievement and to nurture a mindset of continuous learning and reform. The Vice President encouraged trainees to embrace emerging technologies such as AI, NLP, machine learning, and blockchain. These tools, he said, offer major opportunities to improve transparency, efficiency, and citizen service delivery. He also described the iGOT Karmayogi platform as an excellent resource for anytime, anywhere capacity-building. The event was attended by Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh, Vice President’s Secretary Amit Khare, NACIN Director General Dr. Subramanyam and other dignitaries.
