The Vivaah Panchami festival was celebrated on Tuesday with gaiety and religious fervour by Hindus devotees, marking marriage of lord Ram and Sita in vedic era at Janakpurdham. Janakpur observed a week-long festivity culminating on Vivah panchami today, observing all the rituals performed during the wedding of a daughter in hindu family. Janakpur, the capital of Madhesh Province in Nepal, is believed to be a place where Sita was raised and was married to Lord Ram.
