Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam debuts in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections

In Tamil Nadu, Tamilaga Ventri Kazhagam, founded by Actor Politician Vijay, is making its debut in the State Assembly elections. Vijay released the first set of candidates and introduced the contestants who will enter the fray for the first time, including him, who will be contesting two seats, Perambur and Trichy East. The party has former senior members of the AIADMK, including Sengottaiyan and JCD Prabhakar. Candidates are yet to be announced in the Sasikala – Ramadoss alliance for the Assembly polls.

The nominations for the single phase of the election will begin on the 30th of this month to 6th April. The nominations will be scrutinised on the 7th, and the last date of withdrawal will be on the 9th of next month. April 23rd is the date of the poll, and the counting will take place on 4th May.
