Vice President CP Radhakrishnan today met Housing and Urban Affairs and Power Minister Manohar Lal, and senior officials at Parliament House. During the interaction, the Vice President was briefed on major initiatives, policy interventions, and achievements aimed at strengthening country’s urban infrastructure and ensuring a reliable and sustainable power supply.

 

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs highlighted progress under key flagship missions including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U), Smart Cities Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, and AMRUT. They outlined the ongoing efforts to expand affordable housing, upgrade urban services, and promote sustainable and resilient urban development.

 

The Ministry of Power also presented an overview of country’s power-sector performance, covering growth in generation capacity, grid modernization, renewable energy integration, advancements in energy storage, and enhanced efficiency measures through the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
