Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan today paid tributes to Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, the Vice President said that the nation remembers and honours the fearless freedom fighter and national leader. Mr Radhakrishnan called Lala Lajpat Rai a visionary leader, social reformer, and educationist, who played a pivotal role in strengthening the spirit of nationalism and sacrificed his life for the freedom of India. He added that Lala Lajpat Rai’s legacy of courage and commitment continues to guide the nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tributes to Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, Mr Modi hailed the freedom fighter as the immortal son of the motherland. The Prime Minister said that Lala Lajpat Rai offered everything he had to liberate India from the chains of slavery. Mr Modi also said that Lala Lajpat Rai’s life of sacrifice will continue to remain a source of inspiration for every generation of the country.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai. In a social media post, he highlighted that the freedom fighter became the inspiration for armed revolution for countless revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh. He further added that the sacrifice of Lala Lajpat Rai wove the fragmented freedom movement into a single thread of unity, transforming it into a blazing inferno.
