Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan calls for making AI an integral part of curriculum in schools & colleges

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan today said that India has emerged as one of the most proactive countries globally in shaping policies and missions around artificial intelligence for an all-inclusive growth and national transformation.
 
The Vice President said this while addressing the National Conclave on AI Evolution- the Mahakumbh of AI in New Delhi. Mr Radhakrishnan underlined that AI should be an integral part of the curriculum in schools and colleges and early exposure to AI will equip students with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
 
The Vice President also emphasised that AI is crucial for the country as it charts its inspiring journey towards a self-reliant, inclusive and technologically empowered Viksit Bharat by 2047. He added that the country’s approach to AI is being shaped by a clear and principled vision of inclusion, accessibility and social impact.
 
Mr Radhakrishan also said that the India AI Mission, launched with a budget of over 10 thousand crore rupees, reflects the government’s strong commitment to harnessing the power of AI. He also stressed that technically skilled workforce positions India to emerge as the global leader in Artificial Intelligence.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood said, AI is already transforming learning,  teaching, evaluating, governance and decision making. He underscored that AI is about restoring the human purpose of education. Mr Sood also stressed that AI must strengthen the teachers and empower the learner and improve learning outcomes, especially for those who have been left behind by traditional systems.
