Uttarakhand govt introduces Devbhoomi Family Bill-2026 in Assembly during budget session

The Uttarakhand government today introduced the “Devbhoomi Family Bill-2026” in the Assembly during the budget session at Gairsain.

The bill aims to ensure the effective implementation of welfare schemes and provide transparent assistance to beneficiaries. Once passed, it will establish a unified and verified family-based database called the “Devbhoomi Family”. Under this system, the eldest female member of the family, aged 18 or above, will be registered as the head of the family.

The initiative seeks to bring together beneficiary data scattered across various departments onto a single platform, making the administration of schemes more effective, transparent, and coordinated. Currently, departments use separate databases, leading to duplication of records, complex re-verification processes, and a lack of coordination.
