Uttar Pradesh govt presents last full budget of its second tenure in state assembly

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh today presented the last full budget of its second tenure in the state assembly. The budget in tune of nine lakh twelve thousand six hundred ninety-six crore 35 lakh rupees is the biggest ever budget of the state and 12.9 percent more than the previous year’s budget.

While presenting the budget in the house, the Finance Minister of the state, Suresh Khanna, said that the budget focuses on Infrastructure, women’s empowerment, youth skilling, farmer welfare, poverty eradication and employment. He said that about a quarter of the budget will be spent on roads, expressways, electricity, irrigation, urban development and other infrastructure and special focus is on balanced development of backward areas like Purvanchal and Bundelkhand.

The allocation for education and health care is 12.4 percent and 6 percent respectively of the total budget. Allocation for agriculture and related services is 9 percent of the total budget. State government is focusing more on alternative energy sources and Rupees 1500 crores have been allocated for PM Kusum Yojana while another 637 crore rupees have been allocated for farmers to change their diesel pump sets into solar pump sets. Rupees 25,500 crore have been allocated for rural development and a major chunk of it goes to Viksit Bharat GRAM G and MG-NREGA schemes. Rupees 225 crore has been arranged for the UP AI ​​mission.
