Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath signed a memorandum of understanding worth about 11,000 crore rupees with Japanese companies on the first day of his two-day visit to Japan today.

The agreements were signed with leading firms across sectors, including farm equipment, industrial machinery, water and environmental infrastructure, automobiles, electronics, printing, hospitality and real estate.

Officials said the deals are expected to expand manufacturing capacity and deepen industrial cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Japan.

Adityanath, who arrived in Tokyo to invite global investors, addressed an investment roadshow and invited Japanese firms to explore opportunities in Uttar Pradesh, saying fresh investments would strengthen India-Japan industrial ties.

Calling Japan the “Land of the Rising Sun”, Mr Yogi said Uttar Pradesh is the birthplace of Lord Ram and home to major Buddhist sites, adding that under PM Modi, the Ramayana and Buddhist circuits are being developed to promote spiritual tourism.
