In Uttar Pradesh, 11 people, including four children, were killed in a road accident in the Dramandganj area of Mirzapur last night. The accident involved a truck, a trailer, a car, and an SUV on a steep hill road.
Mirzapur Superintendent of Police, Aparna Rajat Kaushik, said seven of the victims were travelling in the SUV, which caught fire after the crash, and they were burnt to death. Two other victims were the drivers of the car and one of the trucks. The identities of the remaining two victims are still unknown.
According to the police, the accident happened when a truck coming down the hill lost control due to brake failure. The truck hit two cars and then crashed into a parked trailer. The strong impact badly damaged both cars.
Police have started an investigation and are trying to identify all the victims.
