US President Donald Trump openly suggested the possibility of seizing Iran’s Kharg Island oil terminal in the Persian Gulf despite early indications of progress in emerging ceasefire negotiations. The United States and Israel today continued their attacks on the Islamic Republic.
At the same time, Tehran escalated its campaign by striking a major water and electrical plant in Kuwait, as well as an oil refinery in northern Israel.
Trump also claimed that Iran had agreed to permit 20 oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz starting today as a gesture of goodwill. Meanwhile, around 2,500 US Marines are already deployed in the region, and a similar number are en route.
