The US Forces carried out a third round of retaliatory airstrikes in Syria, killing an Al-Qaeda-linked leader connected to a deadly attack on Americans last month.
According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), the strike took place in northwest Syria.
The target was Bilal Hasan al-Jasim, who had direct ties to the ISIS gunman responsible for the December 13 ambush in Palmyra, Syria.
That attack killed two US soldiers and an American civilian interpreter.
CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper said the strike shows the U.S. will continue to pursue those who attack American forces and citizens.
The strikes are part of an operation called Hawkeye Strike.
Since the December attack, the US and its partners have hit more than 100 ISIS weapons and infrastructure sites in Syria.
