Union Ministers Bhupender Yadav, Nitin Gadkari, Manohar Lal, and G Kishan Reddy today attended an inter-ministerial meeting in New Delhi. In a social media post, Mr Yadav said that the deliberations included issues of convergence for recovery of critical minerals from e-waste and extended producer responsibility. He said that they also reviewed the handling of electronic waste in cities.

The Minister also said the meeting follows on from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to encourage Mission Lifestyle for Forever (LiFE), which encourages environmentally friendly lifestyle. He highlighted that under Mission LiFE, management of e-waste is one of the seven principles of a sustainable life. The others are Save Energy, Save Food, Save Water, No to Single-Use Plastic, manage Waste and adopt Healthy Lifestyles.
