Union Minister Piyush Goyal intervened to rescue 36 Indian workers from distressing conditions in Oman, following a complaint brought to his notice recently by BJP leader Govind Prasad from North Mumbai. The workers, who had travelled to Oman seeking employment, faced delayed salaries, cramped accommodations, confiscated passports, and threats from their employer. The Indian Embassy in Oman, acting swiftly with local authorities, traced all affected workers and arranged temporary shelter at a Gurudwara before facilitating their repatriation. Minister Goyal directed his team to prioritize such cases, emphasizing the government’s commitment to protecting Indian workers abroad.
