Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan has said that the Indian creative economy is poised to play a larger and significant role in the country’s GDP in the coming years. Addressing an event, ‘Inspiring Innovators’, in New Delhi today, Dr Murugan said the media and entertainment industry is growing rapidly. He expressed happiness that the post-production of Hollywood movies is taking place in India. Dr Murugan said, this is creating new employment opportunities. The Minister said that digital media has overtaken television. He said people are creating creative content from anywhere using their mobile phones.
In his address, Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Sanjay Jaju said that innovation and creativity are shaping the identity of New India. He said problems are being solved through innovation, which is presenting a new picture of New India.
Principal Scientific Adviser Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood said, Inspiring Innovators is designed to highlight innovation with social relevance while also strengthening skills and knowledge pathways. He said the programme reflects a holistic approach to building India’s innovation ecosystem, connecting policy intent with talent development and real-world application.
