Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary highlights Unified Framework for India’s Skilling Ecosystem

Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary said that the country’s skilling ecosystem is undergoing a paradigm shift from fragmented systems to a unified framework. Chairing the first general body meeting of the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) in New Delhi today, the Minister said that, at present, the skilling ecosystem is outcome-oriented and aligned with education, industry, and future technologies.

Mr Chaudhary noted that the integration of skilling with mainstream schooling and higher education is making skilling aspirational and ensuring seamless mobility for learners across the education ecosystem. During the meeting, the Minister also lauded the launch of the KaushalVerse portal as the digital backbone of the nation’s skilling regulatory ecosystem, which enhances transparency, efficiency, and ease of compliance. The General Body approved the proposal to establish a dedicated Research division within NCVET to undertake research on labour market trends, qualification relevance, system performance, and policy innovation.
