Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurates Somnath Swabhiman Parv Yatra in New Delhi

Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today said that the Somnath temple is the symbol of India’s self-respect, resilience, and indomitable spirit. The Minister said this while inaugurating the Somnath Swabhiman Parv Yatra in New Delhi.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shekhawat said that the move will motivate the citizens to take inspiration from India’s past, from its ancestors, and from the spirit of rising again even after being knocked down.
 
Under the Somnath Swabhiman Parv Yatra, a special train carrying around one thousand three hundred devotees embarked on the journey to the Somnath temple in Gujarat.
 
The train was jointly flagged off by Mr Shekhawat, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Delhi Culture Minister Kapil Mishra from the Safdarjung Railway Station of the national capital. The event marks the commemoration of one thousand years of unwavering faith and devotion to the Somnath Temple.
