Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today inaugurated the National Pavilion of India at the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia in Venice. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shekhawat said that this pavilion reflects the strength of the country’s cultural memory and the power of artistic expression to connect India with the world. The Pavilion presents an exhibition named Geographies of Distance: Remembering Home, which is curated by Dr Amin Jaffer. The exhibition explores ideas of memory, migration, materiality and belonging through contemporary artistic practices rooted in Indian cultural traditions.
