Union Minister G Kishan Reddy reviews coal sector reforms at Chintan Shivir in Gurugram

A two-day-long Chintan Shivir organised by the Ministry of Coal at Manesar in Gurugram concluded today. The Chintan Shivir was convened as a strategic platform to review the progress of ongoing reforms in the coal sector and to deliberate on a forward-looking roadmap aligned with India’s long-term energy security and developmental priorities.

Chairing the event, Minister of Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, said India has achieved its highest-ever coal production of over 1047 Million Tonnes in Fiscal Year 2024-25. He stated that coal provides reliable base-load power and supports critical industries such as steel and cement. He highlighted that it plays a vital role in sustaining economic growth and national development.
