Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Ramdas Athawale today said that the government is committed to the overall progress of Sikkim. He congratulated the people of Sikkim, as the state is celebrating 50 years of statehood. The minister who arrived today in Sikkim for a two-day official visit, addressing a press conference, said that the Northeast has made tremendous progress under the prime minister.

The minister also lauded the government of Sikkim, as Sikkim is the state where almost nil cases against Divyangjans have been recorded since it formed.

The MoS also called on the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur.
