Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan has appreciated the work being done by community radios across the nation. He said that all community radios are working for some cause and promoting our traditions.

He was addressing the inaugural session of Community Radio Sammelan in WAVES today. Information and broadcasting secretary Sanjay Jaju was also present for the inaugural session. He noted that, community radio shows dedication and commitment for the community.

Mr. Murugan also presented 10th National Community Radio Awards. Bihar’s Mayur Kala Kendra’s Radio Mayur won first award for Tech Sakhi programme in thematic awards category. Maharashtra’s Yerala Wani Radio station won first award in Most Innovative Community Radio category for program Kahani Sunandachi.

Joint Secretary Prithul Kumar assured that Government will help all eligible community radios to get financial assistance. He said that, this sammelan will help in policy preparation.
