During the meeting, Mr Puri emphasized that India is opening up over 500 billion dollars investment opportunities across exploration and production, LNG, city gas distribution, hydrogen, shipping, and new fuels. He further underlined that India’s policy reforms have been transformed through 100 percent FDI in energy sectors, transparent bidding, and year-round exploration licensing, creating a predictable and investor-friendly environment. The Minister also noted that India’s six major oil and gas PSUs recorded revenues of about 315 billion dollars in 2024-25, representing nearly eight percent of India’s GDP. He said, such scale demonstrates India as a global energy anchor and a reliable partner for Japanese investors and technology leaders.
