On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today launched a nationwide discount sale on Khadi and Village Industry products under the GST Bachat Utsav, at Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan in New Delhi. A discount of 20 percent on Khadi garments and 10 percent on Khadi village industry products will be given to customers from today till 5th November during Khadi Mahotsav 2025. 

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shah appealed to the people of the country to promote the use of Khadi and encourage the campaign of adopting Swadeshi products. He also urged the citizens and traders to actively promote Make in India products and appealed everyone to buy Khadi clothes worth at least five thousand rupees every year. The Minister also mentioned that for a long time the ideology of Swadeshi and Khadi were forgetten, but under the laedership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi it has regained its old fervor with an increased production. Mr Shah also highlighted the enduring significance of Khadi and Swdeshi in India’s freedom struggle. He said that these ideals rooted in Mahatma Gandhi’s vision not only contributed to nations’ Independence but also provided livelihoods to countless people.
