Union Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed condolences for the loss of lives in Darjeeling due to heavy rains. In a social media post, Mr Shah said that teams of the National Disaster Response Force have reached the spot, and more teams are on standby to join as and when needed.

Mr Shah also informed that he spoke to Darjeeling MP Raju Bista and took stock of the situation. He added that BJP workers are providing necessary assistance to the people in need. He further said that his thoughts are with the people who lost their loved ones and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
