The Union Budget has shown a significant increase in central transfers to Himachal Pradesh. According to budget estimates, a budget of 13,949 crore rupees has been allocated to Himachal Pradesh in 2026-27 for tax transfers. Similarly, a budget of 10,243 crore rupees has been allocated to Himachal Pradesh in 2025-26 for grant-in-aid. Under the special assistance for capital expenditure to states, Himachal Pradesh has also been given 8,309 crore rupees from 2020-21 to 2025-26.

 

In addition, the Central Government has granted ‘site clearance’ for the construction of a greenfield airport in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, an amount of over 68 crore rupees has been sanctioned for the development of theme-based circuits in Himachal Pradesh.
