Ukraine hits major oil terminal in Russia’s Novorossiysk

Ukraine struck a key oil terminal in the Russian port city of Novorossiysk overnight, triggering a fire and damaging key infrastructure, even as Russian strikes rained down on Kyiv.
The depot, one of Russia’s largest oil export facilities, was targeted by Ukrainian forces in an attack acknowledged by officials from both countries.

The Ukrainian General Staff said strike damaged valuable infrastructure at the port and oil terminal, along with a launcher from Russia’s S400 air defense system.

The Russian governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratiev, confirmed the strike saying fragments of downed Ukrainian drones had hit the oil depot. He reported, at least four people were injured as a result of Ukraine’s attack on the port city and four apartment buildings and two private homes had been damaged. He added a state of emergency has been declared. Russia’s defense ministry said it had intercepted a total of 216 Ukrainian drones overnight.

At the same time, Kyiv faced another intense wave of Russian aerial attacks. Local authorities said at least seven people were killed and dozens were injured in the capital.
