A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA has sentenced two more accused to imprisonment in the Pakistan-linked Visakhapatnam Navy espionage case. The special court in Visakhapatnam sentenced the two accused to 5 years and 10 months of imprisonment. It has also imposed a fine of five thousand rupees.
NIA said in a statement that with this, a total of six accused have been convicted and sentenced in the case so far. As per investigations, both men had come in contact with Pakistani intelligence agents through a social media app. They had received monetary benefits instead of secret and classified information from Pakistani agents. Further investigation and trial against other accused persons in the case is continuing.
