The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today launched revamped versions of its TRAI DND and TRAI MySpeed mobile applications in New Delhi. These revamps aim to empower consumers to curb spam communications and accurately assess real-time network performance.

Speaking on the occasion, TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said the upgraded TRAI DND and MySpeed apps have been rebuilt to match present-day technology. He added that it aims to offer simpler interfaces, multilingual support, faster complaint registration, and more transparent tracking of user issues. Mr Lahoti noted that these simple yet powerful tools allow users to assess service providers, report spam effectively, and play a direct role in improving the quality of service. He added that a revamped MyCall app to capture call-quality feedback is expected to launch in March 2026.

TRAI has also released its annual update on the enforcement of Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) and consumer engagement under the Do Not Disturb (DND) ecosystem for the year 2025. It highlights a significant scale-up in regulatory action against spam telemarketing. TRAI highlighted that in 2025, over 17 lakh spam complaints were filed through the DND app, contributing to action against unregistered telemarketers.
