The Governor’s press secretary has informed that the change has come into immediate effect for all references, records, and government purposes. According to the statement, the renaming is intended to reflect the strength and vibrancy of India’s democratic values, with the government noting that the shift aligns with the broader national aspiration of progressing towards a Viksit Bharat.
