Telangana CM to launch ₹6-lakh-per-acre solar irrigation drive for Telangana tribal farms

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will be officially launching the Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam Scheme later today at Macharam village under Amrabad Mandal in Nagarkurnool district. The scheme is aimed at providing solar-powered irrigation and is expected to significantly contribute to the economic development of tribal communities that have depended on forests for their livelihoods for centuries.

The government is planting fruit-bearing trees on these lands, spending 6 lakh rupees per acre, without any cost to the beneficiaries, entirely from state government funds. State Excise Minister J Krishna Rao informed that the state government has specially designed the scheme for the welfare of tribal people, allocating a large sum from the state budget.
