Telangana Assembly Speaker G Prasad Kumar today dismissed disqualification petitions against two MLAs. The speaker delivered his verdict regarding MLAs Kale Yadaiah and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, stating that there was no substantial evidence to suggest they had changed political parties. Both MLAs are being officially recognised as members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), leading to the dismissal of the petitions filed against them.
Earlier, the speaker gave his ruling last month, dismissing similar petitions filed against 5 other MLAs. The speaker noted that there was insufficient evidence to merit disqualification and said the petitioners failed to prove that MLAs T Venkat Rao, B Krishnamohan Reddy, G Mahipal Reddy, Prakash Goud, and A Gandhi had defected from the BRS.
