Tamil Nadu Government released the education policy yesterday. The Government formed a 14-member committee headed by retired Justice Murugesan to draft the new policy in 2022. The panel submitted its recommendations in July last year.
According to the policy, the undergraduate admissions for arts and science courses will be based on consolidated marks from classes 11 and 12 instead of a common entrance exam. The policy was released by the State Chief Minister M.K.Stalin in Chennai.
While addressing the students, he said that a total of 901 students from Government schools had gained admission to premier institutions like IIT inside the Country and also abroad. Meanwhile, BJP have criticised the State Education policy and have said that the DMK government was dividing people into two classes based on education and language.
