In Tamil Nadu, a key recruiter for a cyber slavery racket, Madhan Vadivel of Madurai, was arrested by the State Police from his hideout in Madurai. Madhan Vadivel, aged 35, who runs a restaurant chain called Jallikattu, was arrested following an inquiry based on a complaint by a victim from Tirupattur. Madhan had lured many educated youth with fake promises of a highly paid job in Cambodia and cheated them after getting money from them.
Police inquiry revealed that he had been operating the racket for three years and had trafficked more than 100 youths to Cambodia. The youth were handed over to operators of cyber scam compounds run by foreign nations. He was brought to Chennai after being produced before a magistrate Court in Madurai. He is remanded in judicial custody in Chennai.
