In Uttarakhand, under the central government’s Vibrant Villages Program, the Surya Devbhoomi Challenge was formally inaugurated today with a grand expo, focusing on the holistic development of villages in the Harsil Valley of Uttarkashi district. Organized in collaboration with the Indian Army and the Uttarakhand government, the Surya Devbhoomi Challenge is a high-altitude triathlon aimed at promoting adventure sports, eco-tourism, and socio-economic development in the remote and picturesque regions of Uttarakhand.

Under this challenge, a 110-km long cycling race will be held from Nelang Valley tomorrow, passing through high-altitude, rugged and challenging mountainous terrain and reaching Bhatwadi. The next day, on April 19, a 37-km long running race will be organized from Bhatwadi to Budha Kedar. On April 20, participants will travel from Ghuttu to Sonprayag via Triyuginarayan, and the event will conclude on the same day.
