The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has unanimously elected Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar as party’s National President. The decision was taken at NCP’s National Convention 2026 held in Worli, Mumbai, yesterday. The party also announced Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections.
In a social media post, the newly elected NCP President, Sunetra Pawar, expressed gratitude towards party’s senior leaders, office-bearers and workers for showing trust in her leadership. Ms Pawar said that the void created by the departure of Ajit Pawar still unsettles the heart. She further said that farmers are at the center of her party’s ideology and the NCP will focus on increasing the use of modern technology and artificial intelligence to make farming more profitable.
