External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar met the President of South Korea, Lee Jae Myung, in New Delhi today. In a social media post, Dr S. Jaishankar lauded the South Korean President’s commitment to deepen bilateral relations across multiple domains. He also expressed confidence that his talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow will further strengthen both countries’ special strategic Partnership.

EAM S Jaishankar meets South Korea President Lee Jae Myung in New Delhi
President of South Korea Lee Jae Myung arrived in New Delhi this evening on a three-day visit to India. He was received by Union Minister Harsh Malhotra. He is accompanied by First Lady Kim Hea Kyung and a high-level delegation comprising Ministers, senior officials and business leaders. This is President Lee’s first visit to India.
The External Affairs Ministry said in a statement that during his visit, President Lee Jae Myung will hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on strengthening bilateral cooperation across a wide spectrum of areas. These include shipbuilding, trade, investments, AI, semiconductors, critical and emerging technologies, people-to-people connections, and cultural exchanges. They will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. The Prime Minister will host a lunch in honour of the visiting dignitary.
President Lee Jae Myung will also hold discussions with President Droupadi Murmu.
India and South Korea share a multifaceted partnership rooted in ancient civilizational ties and shared values of democracy and the rule of law. The visit underscores the shared aspiration of both countries to further strengthen the existing areas of cooperation while expanding collaboration in new and emerging areas of mutual interest.
