Sikkim Police has been conferred with the President’s Police Colour Award, in recognition of its outstanding service and professionalism. Known as the Nishaan, the award symbolises bravery, discipline, and dedication, and is worn with pride on the left sleeve of the uniform.

Since Independence, only 14 states have received this prestigious distinction, making the honour a landmark achievement for Sikkim Police. Sikkim has become the 15th state overall and 3rd in the North East to get the prestigious award. The flag and insignia will be formally presented during a Colour Presentation Parade later to the Sikkim police.
