Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan today emphasised on women’s empowerment, highlighting the skills, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit of Self Help Groups (SHG) women across the country.

The Minister made these remarks while celebrating the Raksha Bandhan festival with women from self-help groups in New Delhi today. During the event, Mr Chouhan said that self help groups will play an important role in creating Viksit Bharat. He asked citizens to support local artisans and women from self-help groups by buying swadeshi products and promoting vocal for local initiative. He promoted handmade swadeshi rakhis by SHGs women. Mr Chouhan also interacted with self-help group’s women from different states like Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
