The State Bank of India (SBI) today submitted all electoral bonds data to the Election Commission of India. The Commission said that in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directions to the SBI, data on electoral bonds has been supplied by the Bank to it. Yesterday, the Supreme Court dismissed the request of SBI seeking an extension till the 30th of June to disclose details of electoral bonds encashed by political parties, including the date of encashment and the denomination of the electoral bond. It had directed the SBI to disclose details by the close of business hours today. Separately, it asked the Election Commission to publish these details by 5 PM on the 15th of this month on its website. The Apex Court had, on February 15, scrapped the electoral bonds scheme.
