Sandeshkhali Case: CBI Witness Injured in Road Incident, BJP Raises Questions

In West Bengal, a complaint has been registered by Bholanath Ghosh, one of the key witnesses in a CBI-registered case in which former TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan of Sandeshkhali is the prime accused. Bholanath was severely injured, and his younger son and the driver of his car were killed when a truck collided with his car in the North 24 Parganas district yesterday. They were on their way to testify in a case at the Asirhat Court related to Sheikh Shahjahan.  Bholanath’s family has alleged that the crash was deliberate.

After filing the complaint, Mr Ghosh alleged that the life-threatening attack was planned by Seikh Shahjahan and orchestrated by his associates. Ghosh’s elder son, Biswajit, accused Shahjahan of orchestrating the attack and said that earlier they had threatened to kill his father and this was not an accident but an attempt to murder. He claimed Shahjahan’s order was carried out by his associates.

BJP has criticised the incident. The  Union Minister of State for Education & Development of North Eastern Region, Sukanta Majumdar, said that the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, was responsible for such an attack.
