In the forex market, the rupee today rose by seven paise to close at 85 rupees and 27 paise against the US dollar supported by gains in domestic equities and positive macroeconomic data. The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was trading at 100.61 in intra-day trade.
