RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat said the organisation will initiate dialogue to end divisions in society. Speaking as part of a lecture series on “100 Years of Sangh Journey – New Horizons” in Bengaluru, he emphasised that the RSS will work for social harmony by bridging societal divides.
He pointed out that during the 1857 First War of Independence, both Hindus and Muslims came together to fight against British rule. Mr. Bhagwat said the British recognised this unity as a threat to their authority and deliberately sought to widen divisions in Indian society. He added that the RSS will launch an outreach programme to address and reduce such divides.
On other initiatives, he said the organisation will engage with caste leaders and heads of religious sects at the block level as part of Sadbhavana Karya, aimed at uplifting communities and resolving conflicts. He also called upon civil society to contribute to efforts promoting social harmony.
