The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning over Uttar Pradesh today due to dense to very dense fog conditions. The weather agency has forecast dense to very dense fog conditions to prevail during early hours over parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha till Saturday. Similar weather conditions will continue over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttarakhand during the next 2 to three days. The IMD has also forecast Cold wave conditions to prevail over West Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand till tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Light rainfall and snowfall will be present over Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh till the 23rd of this month. A gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius is expected over Gujarat during the next two days. The air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to remain in the very poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the National Capital was recorded at 356 as of 6 AM today.
