Rain continues across MP, red alert issued for Ujjain, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa & Rajgarh

Rain continues in many districts of Madhya Pradesh even today. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of rain in the state for the next four days.

 

Akashvani correspondent reports that “More than 25 districts in Madhya Pradesh received rain during the last 24 hours. Guna received the highest rainfall of 5.8 inches. Rain continues in many districts, including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Jabalpur. Heavy rain has caused waterlogging in many places in the Shivpuri district. Parvati River is in spate in Sheopur district, and the Sheopur-Baran highway has had to be closed. Meanwhile, continuous rain in the Ashoknagar district for the last two days has disrupted normal life. The MeT Department has informed that a strong system of rain is active in Madhya Pradesh for the next 4 days. The Department has issued a red alert for very heavy rain in Ujjain, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa and Rajgarh today, while there is an orange alert in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Indore and Dewas.

 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy rains in parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh today. It said that conditions are favourable for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and parts of Jammu during the next two days. IMD further predicted isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat until Friday. Meanwhile, the weatherman said that hot and humid conditions are likely in isolated pockets of Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema until tomorrow.
