In view of a heavy passenger rush between Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar due to bad weather and the closure of roads and flights, railway authorities have permitted the operation of reserved special trains to facilitate stranded travellers. Four special services will operate today and tomorrow between Katra and Srinagar, with an en route halt at Banihal.
The decision has been taken to ensure safe, smooth and convenient travel for passengers affected by the disruption of regular transport services in the region. Railway authorities have advised passengers to check reservation status and train schedules in advance, as demand is expected to remain high during the period. Passengers can obtain further details from the official railway website, the helpline number 139, or through the National Train Enquiry System.
